Waitress was nice, but they were out of chicken at 7:45 on a Saturday night. Not cool.

Great out of the way "hole in the wall" chicken stop. Friendly wait staff. Though it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside and the food don't disappoint. I recommend the teds half.

This place is fantastic. If you're looking for fantastic chicken and sweet tea in a home style atmosphere then this is the place you go. Ted's is one of the best restaurants in Winston-Salem. The staff is very friendly and sweet and it's a very popular spot with locals. Sadly they're only open Wednesday through Saturday. I'd recommend getting the half chicken with fries, or the chicken livers if that's you're kind of thing. If you've never been then you have to try it.

After eating here I am very confused why this restaurant has such high reviews. I was served dry reheated chicken in watered down hot sauce. The sides tasted like what you typically buy in a can or tub at a grocery store. The burger to go was burnt and cost over 6 dollars. I am honestly shocked by my experience. The staff were very nice but not very attentive to refilling drinks or typical things that good waitresses do.

Called to order food to take home... Woman that answered the phone laughed at me when I wanted to order a chopped chicken plate and then told me they have never had that. Got the same thing when I asked about fried okra. I had never been to this location before but have been to the one on Main st and figured the menus werw the same. Nope.... Then she told me it would be ready in 15 minutes but we waited 30 before we finally got the food. Chicken was very dry and the fact that the sandwiches don't come with fries is very disappointing. I won't go back. The Main st location in Winston Salem is 100% better on all points..

The atmosphere was great, if you like country kinda feeling. I love the laid back feel with all the funny signs on the wall the decor is great, country music plays out side and in, a spot in front of the restaurant where kids are playing, from seeing of the side of the road it looks small and that's why I never went, i thought it was just a take out place but its got more room then you can tell full table service with a few table's. The food was good but it was a little slow, the soft drinks don't have free refills either, the beer selection was pretty reasonable mostly just lites no IPA's and such, very nice small local country restraunt. Also pay for the check upfront.

This was my first time in this location. I've always gone to their location on Main street in Winston Salem. It's a small restaurant with a home town feel where everyone knows everyone. We felt welcome and they were playing great music! The food was also great!

Likeable hole in the wall restaurant. Have been there twice in the past month and a half and will definitely go back. Chicken has a nice kick; everything I've had was good all around. It's a little road trip, but worth it on a pretty day when you need a chicken fix.

Love their chicken. Kind of a unique atmosphere in this place in the sense that it reminds me of a restaurant from the 1950's. Nice help and interesting clientel.

Ted's Famous Kickin' Chicken is only open Wed-Sat. It's food is over priced and not as good as the food would suggest.

I ate there a couple days ago. I got the large order of chicken nuggets, a side of French Fries with cheese over it ... My goodness... It filled me up, and it was delicious. I had half of my nuggets dipped in their special Ted's sauce, and the other half plain. It was soooo good. The staff was very friendly, the owners were there too, and were very nice. This will become one of the places I will eat at often.

Great place with that special "hole in the wall" feel. Best chicken and wings in the Triad. Dennis and Barbara have done great job of putting together an awesome team that provides wonderful service. There is a bar that serves beer but it is family enough that we have been talking our kids since they were babies. You can strike up a conversation with anyone in there and will be treated like they have known you for years. Bottom line - Great service, the beer is always cold and the chicken is always hot.

Was very disappointed with this one turns out it's not owned or operated by the same standards as the one on old 52 the wings wasn't cooked completely and we got two pulled chicken sandwich plain cause my wife can't eat spicy food well long story short she ended up not getting to eat cause one sandwich was and one sandwich wasn't no marks on the boxes to indicate one plain and one spicy the service was fair once I got served no signage or greater just a five minute standing guess to step to the other end of the bar was a first and definitely a last when called to inform about the half cooked feather wearing chicken was told bring it back and would make right damage was done $22.00 that should have been spent else where on better food. Like McDonald's even just saying but from what I saw if you want a cold beer then this is your place. Will not recommend or ever get stared at again at this restaurant will drive the extra 30 plus miles to the other Ted's.

Cheap food, friendly staff, and as expected, delicious chicken. Order fries as a side so you can set them in or dip in the extra sauce that comes with the chicken. Good lunch specials and good drink specials on Thursday nights.
